Welcome to the team...

This summer, we welcome a number of student placements, who will take the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience across Sopher + Co's Audit & Accounts, Tax and Central Services teams. 

These placements give the individuals a glimpse into working life as well as the chance to develop knowledge in their relevant areas of study. 

This year, we signed up to the University of Hertfordshire Funded Graduate Internship Scheme in partnership with Santander and some of our placements have been placed using this scheme. One of our most recent success stories from this scheme was intern, Kaycie Johnson, who has been offered a permanent Accounts Junior role after demonstrating his skills and adaptability to the role during his 3-month placement at Sopher+ Co.

Kaycie completed his undergraduate degree in Business & Economics from the University of Hertfordshire and is due to graduate in September. He came to the firm to develop his skills and transfer the knowledge from his degree into a working life setting. 

Here's what he had to say about his time at Sopher + Co so far: 

“I was initially attracted to the firm because they provided me with the opportunity to move around and learn about different specialisms as opposed to limiting my experience to one department. One thing that I have really enjoyed at Sopher + Co is that I was given real responsibility from day one. Working on and completing a client's accounts is one of the greatest achievements I've had at Sopher + Co so far and I look forward to having more of my own projects to work on, as well as learning about the different departments and how a completely different department is linked to the work that I am doing. Finally, I look forward to improving my knowledge of VAT and understanding the associated legislation.”
